WLOY Raises Over $2200 for the American Cancer Society
Relay for LifeThanks to everyone who came out to support WLOY's Relay for Life team. Through donations and t-shirt sales, we raised more than $2200 for this important charity. Special thanks to WLOY's Rich Rodrigues for putting together 12 hours of awesome music for everyone at Relay. For a listing of our major Relay sponsors, visit WLOY's Relay Page. We are still accepting donations for this cause. If you would like to contribute, please contact captains Tim McGee (wloygm@loyola.edu) or Kat Kienle (wloynews@loyola.edu).

WLOY Raises over $3000 for The Middle Grades Partnership
Relay for Life12 November 2007 - The WLOY Executive Board presented a check for $3091.00 to Beth Casey, director of The Middle Grades Partnership.  Select students, faculty, and parents from the Calvert School and Francis Scott Key Middle School also came to the event to meet the staff, socialize, and to receive tours of the station.  The fifth grade students were a pleasure to have, telling the student employees lively stories about everything from school lunches to future goals in life.  Special thanks to WLOY staff, past and present, for committing so much of their time to this fundraising effort.
WLOY Charity Guitar Auction Success
Relay for LifeThe staff at WLOY have worked hard over the past year to collect amazing autographs from the likes of Zakk Wylde and Lindsay Buckingham. A number of artists autographed our red Epiphone Les Paul guitar, which was aimed at helping the WLOY charity, Middle Grades Partnership. Sold on eBay, the guitar netted $810, all of which will help middle school children prepare themselves academically for a college preperatory high school in Baltimore City. Thanks especially to Rams Head Live! and everyone else who made this auction a great success!
